GetREADYU COLLEGE APPLICATION WORKSHOPS
Students can and should take charge of their college application process, but it doesn't hurt to have a bit of guidance. Not all students know what they want to do or where they want to go. Again, it is about fit, not brand. Approaching the entire process with a strategy doesn't hurt either. Why not attend a three-day GetReadyU application workshop? Clear up the confusion, and get it done before school begins.
What we do:
Day 1. Discovery, Q&A: Explain process and strategies. Proven process used to investigate and match students with degree options/21st-century careers. Essential vocabulary (ED, EA, FAFSA, etc.). Search for schools, programs, and fit. Create target list/grid. We also discuss the Coalition for Access and Affordability and global options for those interested in either.
Day 2. Work: Design individualized plans based on programs, schools, and goals. Complete applications (Common App, Apply Texas, individual, University of California Application, etc.). Organize. Create emails and sign up for scholarship alerts.
Day 3. Write: Application essays (supplemental essays if time allows). Set deadlines for final essay review. Done.
