Tracey Vickery, Admissions Strategist / International Admissions Specialist and owner of GetReadyU, assists students and families with 21st-century skill development and college/career planning.
Tracey leads three-day college application student workshops where students complete the application process. She also teaches courses in entrepreneurship, leadership, college level writing, ePortfolios, and study skills. Her true gift lies in assisting students with long-range planning, designing 21st-century learning plans, and matching students with colleges and/or programs which fit their unique skills and abilities. She is particularly suited to assist students with international options, having visited with universities in Canada, England, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Hungary, France, Ireland, Scotland, and the Czech Republic.
She is a longtime Austinite (but as of 08/01/17 a Bostonian) and University of Texas graduate, as well as an invited speaker at conferences, events, and schools. While in Austin, she served on the board of Global Austin, an organization that strengthens international exchanges, ties, and citizen diplomacy. Previously, she was a founding board member of The Girls' School of Austin, co-founded Summer Wonders, an award-winning gifted enrichment summer camp, and served as the director of an after-school enrichment program that focused on 21st-century skills. Tracey is also a certified abacus mental math instructor.
She is married and has two daughters. Her younger received an International Baccalaureate high school diploma from St. Gilgen International School in St. Gilgen, Austria, and a bachelor's degree from Northeastern’s Honors Program in Boston (now coordinates consulting relationships for a tech firm). Her elder daughter received her BA (Hons) in Music and Entertainment Industry Management from the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield, England. She is currently based in Boston working for a tech company and traveling internationally for them as an employee experience expert.
